Actually I have no problem with the colors because I thnk the darker color brings out the lighter colors ...

The two main things I would suggest are:

- Think about your use of colour a bit more, the purples and burghandy don't quite work for me. Use colour to represent the space you want to create.

- Your edges are very aliased (jagged), try anti-aliasing in your software package, or try a 1/2 pixel blur in your graphics program of choice.
